Interview with a member of the Club
Conrad Neubert is since 2014 Member of Podo e.V. Learn here, What led him to, to get involved for Podo.
Conrad, Why are you with Podo E.v.. occurred?
There are a bunch of injustice and suffering in the world, not to mention the ubiquitous danger to the environment. To get a clear conscience is only close, I have a feeling, I would have to dedicate these problems actually every waking minute. That but on the other hand always fails, I am not able to, and on the other hand it, I rarely know, How ever can help. What can be done and what seems like a good deed? What are the effects of food aid or donations, who really supports you with this or that project, the indigenous people of their rights to their land be cropped, If conservation is enforced in other countries from the outside?
And even in Germany, such questions are so difficult to answer: Who or which party interpreted social, Economic and ecological problems right? Is who this or that political, social or ecological thing? It really helps whom, If you support them? And always and everywhere the most important question is: Has its own commitment at all any advantage for the, I want to use me for the?
A way out of the confusion of all the possibilities, to get involved, offered me the Podo E.v.. Here is very clearly visible, what the Association aims at, what he does for this, and what he achieved. Ensure that the personal contacts of the members of the association with the staff and the Podokoniosekranken in Ethiopia. I can be safe here, that my involvement has an effect; I can be sure, You benefit from it, for which it is intended; I can be sure, that the Club receives direct feedback, If there is impact of our work in Ethiopia, that we have does not intend. That's why, because of its clear goals and simple means of Podo e.V is. ideal for me, to engage me here.
How have you perceived your first member meeting?
I found the work productive and businesslike. I can find myself in all decisions taken and believe, they will promote the work of the Association.
What do you want for the future of the Association?
More employees in Ethiopia. And if possible close contacts with those in Ethiopia to be continued, benefit from our Association. That the Club so successful works in Ethiopia as usual.
